Please note the grim report below that we just received on flooding at our feeding center from Mr. Sunder SIngh, the Hope Venture Coordinator in Chennai:
“The Agaramthen area, where the Hope Venture feeding centre is located, is affected badly. The flood water in the feeding centre building had been up to 4 feet. There is a crack in the building floor and the cooking shed has fallen down.
Also, many of the houses belonging to the children who come at the Hope venture centre are severely damaged. Couple of the families who were staying in thatched roof houses have lost all their belongings and their huts have been washed off completely. They only escaped with their lives. Presently they have taken shelter in the government high school building.
We have distributed bed spreads to 70 families today to give them protection in cold weather. They have been also supplied with food packets yesterday afternoon to provide them with one meal.”
If you’d like to help, please give to our feeding centers at https://thehopeventure.org/donate/ and put “flood relief” in the comment section. Thank you so much! – Cynci
